This varied treks leads east from Lukla,
over the Salpa Pass and into Tumlingtar. As you head
eastward, you leave most of the tourists behind and roam
through fascinating traditional villages. Sherpa tend
livestock at higher altitudes about 2,000m. while Rais
farm the fertile Valleys below. The lush forests abound
in wildlife and birds species. From the Salpa Pass,
there are sweeping Himalayan views. Over night at
variety of charming local lodges which serve basic
Sherpa and Rai food, and dip into local swimming hotels
along sub-tropical riverbanks. |

Day 01 : Kathmandu – Lukla (2800m.) by flight then trek
to Puiyan 2730m. 6hrs. |
Day 02 : Puiyan – Pangum 2850m. O/N. 5hrs. |
Day 03 : Pangum – Najing 2650m. (Splendid views of Mera
Peak from pangum pass) 6hrs. |
Day 04 : Najing – Bung 1710m. 6hrs. |
Day 05 : Bung – Sonam 2750m. 6hrs. |
Day 06 : Sonam – Phedi 1676m. (Himalayan views from Sonam
3414m.) Apr. 6hrs. |
Day 07 : Phedi – Gothe Bazaar 1128m. 5hrs. |
Day 08 : Gothe Bazaar – Kattike Ghat 457m. 5hrs. |
Day 09 : Kattike Ghat – Tumlingtar. Several small hotels
overlook the Airport. Situated on a plateau |
Day 10 : Tumlingtar – Kathmandu flight or continue trek
to Hile Bazaar and drive to Kathmandu via Dharan – Dhankuta high
way. |
